Mira read clinical trial listings for a month before she spoke to anyone about them. The listings are written for researchers, and she is not one.
A navigator went through the eligibility criteria line by line with her, translated the ones that mattered, and then did the thing she hadn't realized was allowed: called the study site on her behalf.
One site had a screening slot in nine days and was forty minutes from her house. She had passed over that listing twice because a single exclusion criterion looked, on paper, like it ruled her out. It didn't.
Two years in, she still sends the navigator a note each time she finishes a cycle.
